What You’ll Do as a Medical Coder
In this role, you’ll play a key part in reviewing patient medical records and ensuring accurate coding for claims and encounters. Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing charts to verify coding accuracy and completeness
- Identifying chronic or new conditions for provider validation
- Performing analysis for compliance with coding guidelines
- Meeting daily coding production goals
- Attending team meetings and supporting departmental objectives
Qualifications for Success
To be considered, you’ll need:
- CPC Certification (AAPC or AHIMA)
- 2+ years of medical coding experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Computer proficiency with EMR software and Microsoft Office
A CRC certification and a bachelor’s degree in a related field are preferred but not required.
