About the Role
In this position, you’ll manage the full billing cycle—from charge entry and claim submission to payment posting, denial management, and patient billing. You’ll be using your knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding to ensure clean claims, handle denials, and support smooth revenue flow for the practice.
Key responsibilities include:
- Tracking claim status and resolving rejections or denials
- Submitting appeals and supporting documentation
- Reporting billing errors, trends, and underpayments
- Reviewing aging reports and outstanding claims
- Verifying insurance benefits and prior authorizations
- Posting insurance and patient payments
- Responding to billing inquiries via phone or email
- Ensuring HIPAA compliance at every step
What You Need to Qualify
- Associate degree or billing/coding certification
- 2+ years of medical billing experience, ideally in a specialty like orthopedics, neurology, or surgery
- Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and workers’ comp processes
- Hands-on experience with EMR systems such as Medent or Epic
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
