About the Role

As a Medical Billing & Coding Specialist, you’ll handle the end-to-end coding and billing process for clinical services. This role is vital for ensuring that firsthand’s healthcare providers are accurately reimbursed and that all documentation aligns with federal and payer guidelines.

You’ll also serve as a guide to clinicians, helping them understand proper coding practices and improving documentation accuracy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes accurately
  • Prepare and submit claims, and resolve denials or rejections
  • Educate team members on compliant coding and billing practices
  • Maintain EHR and clearinghouse systems with complete encounter data
  • Audit and correct coding errors to reduce compliance risks
  • Recommend process improvements and update coding procedures

What firsthand is Looking For:

  • 4+ years of experience in medical billing and coding
  • Certification as CPC (AAPC) or CCS (AHIMA) required
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills

Bonus points if you have the Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) credential.
